September Edition of the Up C Down C News Letter

| Hey,
Gigs
Only the one gig this month after a bit of time off. It's at the Tap n Tin on Sat 23rd Sept. It's the next instalment of Comrades and Friends (C&F5) which has had a bit of a change in line up over the last few weeks.
Unfortunately both Ef and Bossk are unable to play so we (Upc) will stepping in along with Sparrows (formerly Rise of Mammals and Screaming Keith), Let our enemies beware and also Black Milk (John Amino).
The night will get underway around 8pm and cost the usual price on the doors for a Saturday night. For more information please see the Comrades myspace page:

Tour
A big thank you to everyone who helped or watched us on our tour which finished last month. It was an excellent experience and we are already starting to organise another U.K jaunt for next year.
Force Majeure mini website
We now have the Force Majeure mini website up and running so if you want to see tour pictures or read the Upc tour diary then check out the link here:

We will be adding to it over time and will also be sorting out some video footage in the shape of a DVD documentary of the tour with lots of live footage from us and all the bands we played with along the way.
Split single and website news
You can now order the Tour split single form our shop page on our website. It contains the new track "Too many escape Darwin's Attention" by Mt. which is taken from their upcoming album "Lethologica" which is released on Oct 2nd and the previously unreleased track "This is where I cried for help" by Upcdownc.
You can also now order t-shirts from our shop page. They come in red or black and are in a variety of different sizes.

| DecoyMusic is holding its first annual Post-Rock tournament. As part of the website's ongoing post-rock coverage, they are now letting the readers take part in this interactive segment. 64 bands have been gathered from around the world and will face off to battle it out for the title of "post-rock champion." They've selected a wide array of bands, drawing from a variety of styles and influences to provide for the most exciting and nail-biting tournament they could conjure up. Gather all of your friends, because this is going to get messy.
The surprising news of the day is that UpC DownC was able to overcome GY!BE on its way to the final four, joining the ranks of Explosions in the Sky, Sigur Ros, and Mono. They will now face Mono in the Final Four, and Explosion in the Sky will face off against Sigur Ros.

It will be broadcast between 11pm - 1am on the Huw Stephens show on Tuesday 7th March. The band recorded 2 tracks from their album "and the battle is won" and also 2 brand new tracks which are yet to be released.

| Up C Down C's first album 'And the Battle is Won' is out today and can be bought from various record stores and online stores (see shop page on www.upcdown.com)
The bands next gig is this Wednesday (Oct 26th) at the Forum, Tunbridge Wells. It's an Unlabel night and they will be joined by Songs of my lap (playing songs from his new Ep "Pe kaboo"), Karl from Eric doing a solo performance and the 125's (members of Jason & the Astronauts) Doors will be around 8pm and I'm sure it won't cost too much to get in. |

| OUT IN A FEW WEEKS, petals fresh from roadkill. 7 tracks spread across 3 formats. the cd has 2 b sides, the vinyl has 2 different bsides and 2 tracks (sex scene #1 and dick strange) will be online to download. each of the ltd edition vinyl has been individually hand painted by lupen crook so look for it very soon. |

| UP C DOWN C LEFT C RIGHT C ABC + START- the album is nearly completed, strings are going to be recorded on some songs this friday. their second single shallows is out in the very near future, a date will be confirmed asap. its very limited edition 10" with two fantastic bsides.
LUPEN CROOK- lupen is recording his first single today (thurs 12th) he is recording 4 tracks- j for julian sleeps, dick strange and the nasty boys, lucky 6 and matthews magpie.
THE DELANERS- are giging around in the next month or so and will hopefully be recording a number of tracks in france sometime soon, one of the tracks is called jack the ripper.
OTHER BANDS- watch this space, they know who they are.x |
